P4 DEAR AMOSZINE,
I HAVE STARTED BUYING AMOSZINE WHEN EVER POSSIBLE, I STARTED
OFF WITH ISSUE 2, THEN ISSUE THEN ISSUE 6. I BOUGHT IT MAINLY FOR
THE SOURCE CODE, AFTER BEING TOLD ABOUT IT OFF AN AMOS M8, AS I
STARTED GETTING EACH ISSUE I FOUND AMOSZINE WAS GOOD IN MANY WAYS,
AND NOT ONLY FOR ITS SOURCE.
I FIND THE TUTORIALS VERY GOOD, AND WAS JUST WONDERING IF
YOU WOULD GIVE TUTORIALS FOR DISK MAGAZINE CREATORS ? AFTER
MAGNUM PRO BEING RELEASED WITH AMOS SOURCE CODE AND THE ULTIMATE
D.M.C. AMOS SOURCE SOON TO BE RELEASED, I THINK IT IS TIME
AMOSZINE STARTS GIVING TUTORIALS ON DISK MAGAZINE CODE. I FOUND THE
BACKDROP IN AMOSZINE 2 OR 5 (CAN'T REMEMBER OFF THE TOP OF MY HEAD)
VERY ATTRACTIVE, OBVIOUSLY MOST AMOS CODERS WILL BE ABLE TO DO THIS
KIND OF STUFF WITH EASE, BUT I THINK THE AMOSZINE PANEL IS VERY
GOOD, MAYBE AMOSZINE COULD SHARE THEIR SECRETS WITH AMOSZINE
BUYERS,I ALSO THINK THEIR SHOULD BE MORE HELP AND TIPS FOR NEW AMOS
BEGINNERS ?
I THINK AMOSZINE BUYERS WOULD LOVE TO SEE SOME HELP WITH
MAKING THERE DISK MAGAZINES THAT LITTLE BETTER.
P4 THANX TO ANDY GIBSON FOR ALL HIS VALUABLE AMOS HELP AND KEEP
THE GOOD WORK UP AMOSZINE
YOURS AMIGALLY
GORDON MacKAY
P5
Well thanx for that nice letter Gordon. I honestly don't know
about us giving all the Az source code secrets away as five of us
have already worked on the source code and take it from me, some of
it is rather crude and would be of no use to a new Amos user. (We
find it hard enough to follow at times, never mind new Amos'ers !)
Another point to take note of here, you seem to be working on a
disk mag judging by your adverts and your letter, that does not
mean that all other Amos'ers are wanting to know the ins and outs
of how to create a disk mag !
However, we have taken note of your requests and if anyone else out
there feels that Az should help out more with creating a disk mag
from scratch, let us know and we will get to work on an on-going
tutorial each issue.
P5 I would like to point out to other Az readers that Gordon McKay
knows myself very well and I have been sending him loadsa help with
his Amos related probs over the last few months.
He is new to Amos and obviously still has loads to learn, so if you
are in the same boat as Gords, then why not drop us a letter and we
will do our very best to help out all you Amos virgins (as it were)
Az is YOUR magazine and we are here for YOU - don't be shy and
think your work isn't up to the standards of some of our (great)
contributers. Please remember that most of us have struggled in the
past and it was via diskzines such as Az and Amos contacts that we
too had to learn (pinch) from.
I don't think anyone can call themselves THE MASTER of Amos as we
all learn something new everyday ! (Don't cha just h8 all those
smug Amos coders out there ?)
